Damn lack of internet and work! Backdating for Monday...
I typed a bit Monday (it sucks to get back to work after being off for so long), then swung by the new condo to unload boxes, get my computer chair moved upstairs, and so on. My brother swung by and I did more minor arranging to my room. It's going to work, I think, although the rectangular shape of it does not really lend itself well to both an office and bedroom. But...*sigh*...there's nothing for it.
The later afternoon and into the evening was spent with
bongirl5. Since she was still decidedly under the weather, I swung by one of her favorite restaurants, El Molino del Orro, a really authenitc Mexican bakery and cafeteria to pick up dinner for us. If I do say so myself, this was very big of me because it's not my favorite place to eat, and the chicken mole I ordered practically cauterized my tastebuds with it's afterkick. But anyway, Bonnie has been feeling very low with her strep throat, and as I have many restaurants where I adore one dish and hate the rest of the menu, I figured it's just a matter of time before I stumble on the specialty.
Then in a campaign of blatant self-interest I rented the Battlestar Galactica miniseries. It only took us like, six hours to watch the three hour DVD what with the pauses for bathroom breaks, pauses for questions, philosophical conversations, telephone calls, discussions, IMDB lookups, etc. While I think Bonnie enjoyed it, she didn't fangirl out or anything, but then I wasn't expecting her to. It took me a good five or six episodes to get hooked on the show. She'll have plenty of opportunity if she watches the rerun season, starting *cough* this Friday night at 10:00 PM, on the SciFi Channel (check your local listings).
Of course, staying really late to watch Battlestar, and then to shoot the shit, meant that I got home to my grandmother's rather late. Let me tell you, facing down many sides worth of mind-numbing mumbly interviews about lighthouses was awful. I barely got a few paragraphs typed before I had to collapse in bed, again, here at my grandmother's house.
This is turning into a pattern I can't seem to break. Effectively, it's just my stuff living at the new condo, and not so much me. I mean, in the five nights since I set up my furniture I've only slept there once. Odd ratio for somebody without a significant other.
