Sheesh, okay, bad me...I skipped two days of updating in a row for no other reason than sheer laziness. But then, I won't be too hard on myself, nobody on my Flist updated much, either.
Okay, so here's for Friday...
The most notable event Friday was my monumentally stupid decision to drive to Orange County during daylight hours. Really, I should have just bucked it up and gone Thursday night, even though I was exceptionally sleepy and worried about getting my projects turned in on time. Because...my God. Somebody flipped their car over in the fast lane in Long Beach, round about Cherry Avenue, and although the radio reports said that traffic was backed up half a mile, it was stop-and-inch-and-stop-and-inch from five miles before the accident. And I had moved over to the right lanes with plenty of time, so I wouldn't have to merge! Argh!
Not much else happened - my mother and I snuck out of the house to have some very delicious Mexican food and then some ice cream. It was nice to get out of the house with just her, even though we didn't have a particularly deep or meaningful conversation.
Sadly, I can't even remember what I did Friday night. The whole thing is just a giant blank to me. I didn't see any friends and I don't remember watching TV or being on the Internet. Friday is just...gone. I must have been reading, or something, but I have no clue. Good thing I'm not suspected of murder - talk about a shitty alibi.
Or maybe I did murder somebody and have blacked it out.
Or was abducted by aliens.
Or something.
ETA: What I Did Friday Night
As Maya so delicately pointed out below, I did spend Friday night with friends - my prospective roommates. That this detail fled my brain actually scares me...a lot. I mean, this was a fairly important event. I filled out all my credit check paperwork and we discussed roommate-y issues. Steve (I don't know if he has a Livejournal) came over, and we played a round of Scrabble that
dedfool crushed everybody at.
The evening was fun! Nothing traumatic happened, and I had several very, very good laughs and a nice time. The cats provoked an allergy attack of sneezing and nose-snotting the likes of which I have never experienced, which, combined with a few minutes of research on the internet suddenly worries me. I could have sworn that the conventional wisdom stated that even people severly allergic to various kinds of pets could build an immunity to the individual animals living with them, but a few moments of research on the 'net just now does not seem to support that theory.
The actual conventional wisdom is to seek medical care - which I can't, as my health insurance is expiring, live without carpets or uphostered furniture - which I can't, as I'll be renting and my prospective housemates have upholstered furniture, wash the cats weekly - which I can't, because they're not my cats, and buy an HEPA air filters and vaccum cleaner - which I can't, because I'm poor ass poor.
Oh, God, is this going to nix this living situation? It can't! I want to live with these people really bad!
